Frequently Asked Questions
How big are we?
We are running just shy of 80 in attendance for the Sunday morning worship service. The worship center will easily seat 250, so we have ample room to grow numerically.
Who are we affiliated with?
We are a church of the Rocky Mountain District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (or simply The Alliance). The Alliance is a worldwide, light-bearing, Jesus-centered missions and church-planting movement with the deeper life at its heart.
What do we believe about salvation?
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone. Salvation is by grace (Eph. 2:5) that means it’s not by merit, it’s not earned, and it’s not deserved; it’s by God’s grace that he extends salvation to us. Not only is salvation by grace, it’s through faith (Eph. 2:8). Faith is the conduit that God uses to transmit salvation to us. He didn’t choose heritage, nationality, citizenship, or church affiliation; he chose salvation through faith. Hence, salvation is by grace, through faith, and is in Christ; (Eph. 2:10) not in anyone or anything else. Salvation is not in the Church or a church, it’s not in religion, it’s not in the Law, it’s not in commandment keeping, it’s not in Mohammad, Buddha, or Saint Peter, it’s only in Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). See also Good News.
What do we believe about the end times?
We believe in the “blessed hope,” the personal, bodily and visible second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones (1 Thess 4:13-18; 1 Thess 5:1-2; Tit 2:11-13; 1 Pet 1:3-7; Rom 13:11-12).
What version of the Bible does the pastor preach from?
Pastor Tim uses the English Standard Version (ESV). The ESV was translated in 2001 and is an update of the Revised Standard Version (RSV) from 1901. Next to the New American Standard Bible (NASB), it is the most literal (word-for-word) popular translation widely available today. The ESV is both literal and easy to read.
What is our style of worship?
A.W. Tozer said, “The beautiful part of worship is that it prepares you and enables you to zero in on the important things that must be done for God.” The worship experience begins when we enter the worship center. When we speak of “worship style” we most often think of music style. Our worship leaders have blended traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music in an attempt to bring a broader audience into the presence of God.
What is our style of dress?
Our style is comfortable. You will find some men wearing a coat and tie while others are in blue jeans and causal shirts. You’ll see women in dresses, pantsuits, and jeans. Pastor Tim will wear a suit and tie, Wranglers and sports coat, or Dockers and a button-up shirt—but always cowboy boots!
Do we have regular Bible studies for men and women?
Yes we do! Bible studies are available during the week at various times of the year. A group for men, Men@Arms, meets weekly September through May. Reflect Groups meet weekly September through May. All group studies are based on the Bible.
